Kelly Khumalo removed from another music show due to the Senzo Meyiwa case
2 min readAward-winning Afro-pop singer Kelly Khumalo has faced another removal from a music show.
After being dropped from the “Tribute To Women” music festival earlier, Kelly Khumalo has now been taken off the lineup of the upcoming Maseru Jazz Festival, scheduled for September 24.
The event organisers attributed their decision to social media posts concerning the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.

In a statement released on Thursday morning, they explained that they have noticed comments on social media regarding one of their guest performers, prompting them to place Kelly Khumalo on hold. They acknowledged respecting the legal team’s professionalism during the legal processes.
To prioritise the Jazz Festival’s interest, the management of Maseru Park made the decision to relieve Kelly Khumalo of her performance obligation, emphasising that she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Kelly Khumalo was originally set to share the stage with artists like Mmamusi, Encore, Mafikizolo, Sechaba, Selaelo Selota, Tebogo Moloi, Nathi, DJ Phat K, DJ Thuli, and Mamaki Motlogelwa.
Later this month, Kelly Khumalo will do a gospel performance at The State Theatre.
